Welcome to ENVISAGE
(ENabling VISions And Growing Expectations)
ENVISAGE is a program co-created by Australian and Canadian researchers, clinicians, and most importantly parents of children with developmental concerns and disabilities. Our mission is to empower caregivers like you to feel confident and competent to navigate the experience of parenting a child or children with developmental concerns by embracing contemporary strengths-based ideas about health, wellbeing, and development.
We know that being a parent or caregiver is a big responsibility. And when your child’s development might be complicated by differences or disability, the challenges can feel even greater. We want you to know that ENVISAGE is here for you, to help parents feel confident and supported as they navigate this journey. We understand that parents and caregivers want to do the best they can for their children, and we know that it can be stressful and overwhelming at times.
We believe in the power of connection, which is why we create a safe and authentic environment to connect with other parents and caregivers who are going through similar life situations. We will also help you build strong partnerships and collaborations with communities and services designed to support you and your family.
We’re excited to share that the impact of ENVISAGE Families has been overwhelmingly positive. Caregivers who have participated in the program reported feeling empowered, more confident in their parenting abilities, and better equipped and connected to handle challenges. Moreover, they experienced improved wellbeing by gaining a different perspective that was strengths based, future focused and full of possibilities.
But that’s not all. ENVISAGE has grown and evolved to serve different communities.
Our ENVISAGE First Peoples program was co designed with mob to ensure it embraces and honours the rich diversity of culture and connections of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. Through yarning circles and sharing stories, ENVISAGE First Peoples connects and empowers mob to feel strong and deadly in raising jarjum with developmental concerns or disabilities.
ENVISAGE Service Providers extends our ideas and resources to service providers, ensuring professionals working with families like yours are equipped with the best knowledge and tools to work in partnership with you. We are also dedicated to providing ENVISAGE Families to caregivers who speak other languages. We have already translated the program into Croatian, through ENVISAGE-Croatia, and will be working with other communities to translate the program into other languages in the future.

We have a committed team of people who are the heart and soul of ENVISAGE from Australia and Canada, including parents, clinicians, and childhood disability researchers, who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program.
